Open Call «Reduce Recreate»

SONOHR 24.-26.2.2023

The SONOHR Radio & Podcast Festival is taking place from February 24th to the 26th and we’re looking for audio-based artistic work and performances that make a lot out of a little – or a little out of a lot – either contextually or on a formal level.

We’re looking for

• Narrative audio pieces that allow for an enhanced listening experience and an exchange with the authors. This can be documentary, fictional or experimental live performances, audio- or sound walks, live podcasts, interactive formats, audio pieces and any other innovative audio formats.

The formalities:

• Projects: In addition to completed works, we’re looking for expressive, intelligible project blueprints and concepts for our program. Well documented projects that have been presented elsewhere are equally welcome.
• We offer remuneration for performance for the selected projects and audio pieces, as well as accommodation and reimbursement for travel expenses to Bern. We’re unable to finance entire productions, but smaller production contributions are possible. Please make reference to the stage of the project in the application.
• Possible languages: German, Italian, French or English. Existing transcripts are welcome, even if only acting as a guide.
• Correspondence is possible in German, French or English

Who are we? 

The SONOHR Radio & Podcast Festival is a three-day celebration of creative, sound-rich documentary and fictional audio narratives and allows for an exchange between the authors themselves, as well as with the audience. In addition to this Open Call, SONOHR is announcing its annual competition for contemporary Swiss audio pieces in June 2022.
